In the diamond market, news surfaced that Jean-Marc Lieberherr left Rio Tinto’s Diamonds unit after 10 years with the company, the last several as managing director. Rio Tinto also announced that its 2015 diamond production was up 25 percent when compared with 2015, as it ramped up mining at its Argyle mine in Western Australia but scaled back a bit in Canada.
