The American Gem Society’s Conclave event started Wednesday in Washington, D.C., offering a number of keynote speakers and education sessions to help retailers with their business.

Meanwhile, another large colored diamond gets ready to hit the auction block, as Sotheby’s has unveiled the 15.38-carat pear-shaped “Unique Pink” diamond it will sell in Geneva next month.

In majors news, Tiffany & Co. announced it will sell its T collection on luxury e-commerce site Net-a-Porter later this month, LVMH reported growth in its jewelry and watch division in the first quarter, and De Beers said rough diamond sales were up in its third sales cycle.
