An engagement ring from Donald Trump garnered $300,000 at auction while bidding on the 1,109-carat rough diamond found by Lucara fell short of the reserve price at Sotheby’s and, thereby, did not sell.

Two major companies--Macy’s and Shinola--announced they were getting new CEOs, while Amazon said it would start carrying lab-grown diamond jewelry in shades of pink and blue from the House of Eléonore.

Meanwhile, one of National Jeweler’s editors blogged about which colors dominated the Las Vegas trade shows while another talked about the best emerald pieces at Couture.
