New York--The Platinum Guild International (PGI-USA) has a new program for jewelry store employees who exhibit exemplary platinum-selling skills.

The “Platinum Hall of Fame” was created for salespeople who score 100 percent on one of PGI-USA’s mystery shopping trips, during which undercover shoppers visit stores throughout the United States to test the in-store experience and evaluate how salespeople are presenting platinum to customers.

Salespeople who make it into the Hall of Fame receive a framed certificate of recognition, a letter of congratulations for themselves and their store owner or manager, and a platinum lapel pin.

PGI-USA inducted the first nine honorees already and they can be viewed on PlatinumGuild.com. They hail from Helzberg Diamonds (four), The Green Bull Jewelry in Boerne, Texas, the Reeds Jewelers in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Kevin Main Jewelry in San Luis Obispo, Calif., Josephs and Sons in West Des Moines, Iowa, and Swalstead Jewelers in Orlando.

In order for sales people to be eligible for induction into the Hall, stores first must be a Platinum Preferred Partner and then visit the online training center to complete PGI-USA’s online sales training program.

“We created the Platinum Hall of Fame to recognize and honor exceptional sales professionals who are passionate about platinum,” PGI-USA CEO Huw Daniel said. “These individuals epitomize what it means to be a successful sales professional. They are dedicated to their jobs by staying current on platinum training, and they understand today’s consumer which enables them to connect with customers on an emotional level. We are excited to welcome the inaugural class.”
