1) Tiffany uses same-sex couple in ad. Who’ll follow?
This spring, Tiffany & Co. will debut its first ad featuring a gay couple, part of its new campaign that takes a “truly modern” look at love. 

2) Polished diamond prices plummet in 2014
The Rapaport Group reviews the reason behind the drop in diamond prices last year, a year in which the price of 1-carat laboratory-graded diamonds fell 9 percent. 

3) Tiffany reports ‘disappointing’ holiday sales
Same-store sales in the Americas fell 1 percent in November and December while comps were flat globally for Tiffany & Co. 

4) At the Globes, stars kept it classic
Drop and stud earrings along with pieces set with white diamonds were ubiquitous on the red carpet at last week’s Golden Globe Awards. 

5) Slane to quit selling wholesale
Slane, the jewelry brand started by sisters Heath and Landon in 1997, announced last week that it was shutting down its wholesale division and refocusing for the future.
