Bernie Robbins selling student’s butterfly design
Bernie Robbins Jewelers is producing and selling the jewelry design of the Fashion Institute of Technology student who won the company’s 50th anniversary contest.
Raymond Hakimi’s winning jewelry design will be sold at all four Bernie Robbins locations with a framed and signed print of the original sketch. The brooch, along with the sketch, retails for $1,650.
Philadelphia--Bernie Robbins Jewelers is producing and selling the jewelry design of the Fashion Institute of Technology student who won the company’s 50th anniversary contest.
Raymond Hakimi created a limited-edition commemorative sapphire butterfly pendant, which can be worn as a necklace or brooch, in sterling silver with mother-of-pearl.
It is packaged as a gift set with a framed and signed print of the original sketch, and retails for $1,650.
The piece won Bernie Robbins’s 50th anniversary Student Design Contest, and the retailer unveiled the final product on May 2 in all four of its stores, which are located in St. Davids and Newtown, Pa., and Somers Point and Marlton, N.J.
The student design contest was the jeweler’s first and marked its golden anniversary.
Students from the design schools of colleges and universities from throughout the region entered the contest, which carried a grand prize of having the winner’s jewelry design produced and sold in Bernie Robbins stores.
The finalists’ sketches were judged by designers from Ippolita, Gurhan, Hearts on Fire and Penny Preville, among others.
