Florida jewelers named ‘Outstanding Retail Leaders’
John and Marichi O’Rourke, owners of Montica Jewelry in Coral Gables, Fla., have been named “Outstanding Retail Leaders” by the Florida Retail Federation.
Tallahassee, Fla.--John and Marichi O’Rourke, owners of Montica Jewelry in Coral Gables, Fla., have been named “Outstanding Retail Leaders” by the Florida Retail Federation.
Each year, the FRF gives out a “Retailer of the Year” award, given to a Florida retailer who blends sound business practices with a commitment to their communities, customers and employees. Those who do not win but place in the top tier of scoring are recognized as Outstanding Retail Leaders.
To be eligible for either award, retailers must work for or own a Florida retail business with an annual sales volume of $5 million or less.
Montica Jewelry, located in downtown Coral Gables, was founded by Marichi O’Rourke’s parents and offers fashion-forward jewelry. The store has been previously recognized for excellence, named a “jewelry leader” for two consecutive years by Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
“We are thrilled to be honored by this group,” John O’Rourke said. “It represents a deep appreciation from our community and our peers, those who we have so gratefully served for more than 30 years.”
Also named an Outstanding Retail Leader was David King of Doma Home Furnishings in St. Petersburg and Sheri Wilken of Mad Hatter General Store in Tarpon Springs.
Caroline Caudill, owner of gift store The Chandlery in Melbourne, is the FRF’s 2014 Retailer of the Year.
