Miami--U.S. Antique Shows has added an educational component to The Original Miami Beach Antique Show to help its attendees further their knowledge of antique jewelry.

The Original Miami Beach Antique Jewelry Series will begin two days before the opening of the tradeshow at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The series will take place Jan. 28 to 29, 2014, and will include sessions featuring notable jewelry experts with extensive knowledge of jewelry history.

“U.S. Antique Shows is uniquely positioned to provide ongoing education to jewelry collectors, buyers and enthusiasts in conjunction with attending one of the world’s best known antique events,” said Dan Darby, GLM vice president and U.S. Antique Shows group director.

“Many of our attendees come to the show annually, but by simply making arrangements to come a bit earlier, they’re able to fit two great events into one trip.”

Speakers on January 28 will include Kimberly Klosterman, “Breaking the Mold Artist Jewelers of the 1960s and 70;” Harrice Simons Miller, “The Inside Story: Fashion Jewelry—The Collection of Barbara Berger;” Emily Banis Stoehrer, “Louis Feron: Life and Legacy;” and Patricia Faber, “Out of Nowhere: Mid-Century Modernist Jewelry.”

On January 29, Elyse Zorn Karlin and Gail Brett Levine, with whom U.S. Antiques Shows partnered to plan and organize the event, will be hold a session called “Split Personality: Two Different Views of Jewelry.”

In addition to the sessions, the conference will also include a tour of the David Webb Exhibit at the Norton Museum of Art and the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens.

Attendees will also be among the first to see The Original Miami Beach Antique Show before it opens with a tour of select exhibitor booths on Jan. 29 and a preview of the pieces available for purchase.

More information about the sessions, a complete conference schedule, and details of registration and cost can be found on the show’s website.
