Attendance Down Slightly at JCK Las Vegas 2017
Organizers of the jewelry trade show announced that it will return to its regular date pattern in 2018.
Norwalk, Conn.--Organizers of JCK Las Vegas said that research into the 2017 show indicates that transactions were up over the 2016 edition despite attendance being down slightly.
The show, which wrapped up June 8, had a total of 2,178 exhibitors and 19,200 retailers, plus 248 exhibitors and 2,600 retailers at JCK Luxury.
“Buyers came to do business,” said JCK Senior Vice President Yancy Weinrich. “We have seen and heard positive remarks on the increase in the amount of transactions that took place this year compared to previous.
“The first day of JCK was just as strong as previous opening days, matching the same attendance figures we are used to seeing. In a world where we are seeing retail stores closing at an alarming rate, it is also refreshing to see over 1,200 new stores attend JCK for the first time.”
This year, JCK shifted its typical show date pattern to accommodate exhibitors who observe the Jewish holiday Shavuot. Consequently, the show opened Monday, June 5 and concluded the following Thursday; JCK Luxury opened three days prior to the show’s start.
Next year, JCK will return to its regular schedule.
The show will open on Friday, June 1 and run through Monday, June 4. The AGTA GemFair will commence on Thursday, May 31 and also run through Monday, June 4.
JCK has also announced that its 2018 edition will feature a new area, the Las Vegas Estate Jewelry & Watch pavilion, in conjunction with the Palm Beach Show Group. More information can be found on the show website.
