New York—The possibilities for selling high-ticket fine jewelry items online have greatly expanded in recent years. Just look at Martin Katz for proof.
The Beverly Hills, California-based designer has created his one-of-a-kind, elaborate gemstone pieces for 30 years, worn on red carpets and in magazines by the likes of Hollywood heavyweights Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman, as well as rising stars Gigi Hadid and Zoe Kravitz.
His collection boasts price tags that match its artistry and labor, but in 2017 Katz took the e-commerce plunge, participating in a month-long Moda Operandi trunk show.
One can assume the partnership was successful, as last month the designer debuted on Net-a-Porter, with separate collections available on the powerhouse e-tailer’s British and American sites.
“I chose pieces that were very colorful and creative to speak to the DNA of the Martin Katz brand,” Katz told National Jeweler. “Almost everything is more artistic rather than classical.”
Available now, the pieces featured on the site range in price from $30,000 to $70,000.
