Kohl’s Department Stores is offering 70 percent off a pair of diamond solitaire earrings as one of its deals on Black Friday, which technically begins when the retailer opens its doors Thanksgiving night.
The 10-karat gold, half-carat total weight earrings will be available in stores only and will be priced at $179.99 per pair. They are regularly priced at $600, on sale for $224.99 and then marked down further for Black Friday, according to Kohl’s.
Kohl’s did not provide information on the quality of the earrings (i.e., color, clarity) by deadline.
The earrings, along with the retailer’s other Black Friday deals, will be available beginning 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving Day), as Kohl’s launches what it calls its “biggest ever” Black Friday event.
“We’ve stepped up in a big way to establish Kohl’s as the ultimate, one-stop destination for Black Friday shoppers,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief customer officer. “From popular national brands and must-have in-store-only offers to surprising thousands of Dream Receipt winners by paying for their entire purchase, we want to create a fun, memorable and convenient experience in our stores and online.”
Kohl’s is also offering select deals online beginning Nov. 26, including an extra 20 percent off all fine and silver jewelry that is already 55 to 60 percent off. This includes the Diamond Mystique 18-karat gold over sterling silver diamond earrings for $21.99, as well as diamond accent pendants and earrings for $79.99 each.
Other items that the company will offer as part of in-store Black Friday deals beginning Thanksgiving day include Beats Solo HD headphones for $179.99 (regularly $199.99), Apex 32” LED HDTV for $139.99 (regularly $229.99), and Sony portable speakers with Lightning dock for $39.99 (regularly priced at $79.99), among others.
Kohl’s joins a number of other major retailers that are planning to open on Thanksgiving Day this year, starting the holiday shopping season even earlier.
J.C. Penney, Macy’s and Target also have announced intentions to open on Thanksgiving, as have Sears and Kmart, both of which are owned by Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based Sears Holdings. The company said that its Kmart stores would open at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
