New York--Patrick Dorsey, who has been the general counsel and secretary at Tiffany & Co. for the past 29 years, is retiring. His last day will be May 22.
The news about Dorsey closely follows the retirement announcement of James Fernandez, chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Tiffany. The company will eliminate the position of COO when Fernandez steps down in July.

Replacing Dorsey will be Leigh Harlan, who, in addition to assuming the role of general counsel and secretary, will be senior vice president. She will responsible for the company’s global legal affairs.
Harlan most recently worked at New York City-based law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where she practiced corporate, transactional and finance law.
Varda Shine, the former head of sightholder sales at De Beers, has been made an honorary member of the London Diamond Bourse in recognition of her work as one of the major powerbrokers in the international jewelry trade.
Shine joined De Beers in 1984 and by 2006 was the executive vice president of global sightholder sales.
She was the first woman awarded an honorary lifetime membership at the Israel Diamond Exchange also received the Women’s Jewelry Association’s Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. Shine also is a governing board member of the Diamond Empowerment Fund.
