Target becomes latest to sell Apple Watch
The smartwatch will be available in select stores beginning this week, on Target.com on Oct. 18 and in all the retailer’s stores by Oct. 25.
Minneapolis--Target has become the latest in the relatively small lineup of retailers to sell Apple’s smartwatch.
The Minneapolis-based retailer announced late last week that Apple Watch, which is expected to hit select stores this week, will be available on Target.com by Oct. 18 and available in all its stores by Oct. 25.
The highest priced model Target will carry retails for $599, though it will sell more than 20 different versions total, including the new “space” gray and rose gold-colored watches. Target will carry both sizes, the 38 mm and the 42 mm.
What Target will not be carrying, however, is Apple’s attempt to marry high fashion with its high-tech timepiece via a partnership with Hermès. According to Town & Country, Apple Watch Hermès went on sale Monday at select Hermès and Apple stores across the country, as well as at Maxfield in Los Angeles. Prices start at $1,100.
The Apple Watch currently is sold at Best Buy and a handful of boutiques worldwide, as well as in Apple stores and on the tech giant’s e-commerce site.
There also are two specialty jewelers in the world that are stocking the smartwatch, London Jewelers in New York and Malmaison by the Hour Glass in Singapore.
