Pictured here is a historic Breguet pocket watch that once belonged to the founder of Agence France-Presse, the international news agency headquartered in Paris, and was sold for approximately $3.3 million at auction last May at Christie’s Geneva.

Weehawken, N.J.--Breguet has appointed Peter Kramer as its brand president for the United States and Canada.

The Swiss watch company confirmed that he has been in the position since February.

Kramer joined the brand with many years of jewelry and watch experience.

He most recently served as executive director of sales and network development of watches and fine jewelry at Chanel Inc., a position he held for five years.

He also served as executive director, operational marketing in Chanel U.S.’s watches and fine jewelry division.

Prior to that, he was at Cartier for 12 years, where he held various sales, marketing and operations positions.

The Breguet watch brand is part of the Swatch Group, which recently reported an 11 percent drop in sales and 47 percent decrease in net income in 2016.
