Piaget Launches Entry-Level Watch with New York Soiree
Nine brand ambassadors helped Piaget introduce the stainless steel Polo S watch at a party held Thursday night.
New York--Good news for those coveting a timepiece from famed watch and jewelry house Piaget: the new entry-level stainless steel Polo S Automatic can be theirs for a cool $9,350.
Piaget has launched five watches in its new Polo series, dubbed the Polo S.
The Polo S Automatic comes in blue, silver or slate-gray dial versions, and features the 1110P movement. The Polo S Chronograph is available with a silver or blue dial, both outfitted with the 1160P movement. It retails for $12,400.
The cushion-shaped dial of the Polo S watches sits within a round 42mm case. The bracelet features hand-assembled, stainless steel links in a satin-polished finish.
Piaget feted the Polo S series with not one but nine brand ambassadors. Actor Ryan Reynolds serves as the international brand ambassador, while the eight other men enlisted by the brand have been dubbed “Game Changers.”
The Game Changers include actor Michael B. Jordan, star of films such as Fruitvale Station and Creed, polo player Malcom Borwick, novelist Joël Dicker, actor and singer Hu Ge, tennis player David Goffin, artist and businessman Mohammed Sultan Al Habtoor, musician and singer Miyavi and chef Jean-François Piège.
All were present at the watch’s reveal Thursday night, which took place at the Duggal Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a venue popular with the fashion crowd (Alexander Wang once held a show here and Lady Gaga celebrated an album release.)
Piaget favorite Nacho Figueras, the Argentinian polo legend, was also in attendance.
Hundreds of guests mingled at the event, enjoying summer-themed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails in the humid evening.
Piaget had, of course, thought ahead. Waiters were standing at the ready with cool towels for the guests’ benefit.
The brand also shared the reveal via Facebook Live and launched a 360-degree virtual reality polo experience, in which fans can engage in the sport online.
Piaget’s Polo S series will be available through Piaget’s wholesale partners and at Piaget boutiques. For more information, visit Piaget.com.
