A New Book Collects the Musings of the Late Jose Hess
Written by Magdalena Hess, “The Beauty In All” includes the designer’s observations on love, humor, friendship, marriage, and more.
He would say, “It’s a flower, it’s the rising sun, it’s a tree, the leaves. It’s all love.”
Jose, who died last year at 87, one of several groundbreaking artists the industry lost, saw beauty in everything and never ceased to marvel at the world around him.
Now, Magdalena is paying tribute to her late husband’s eye for the ethereal in a new coffee-table book that pulls from the many journals Jose left behind.
Called “The Beauty In All,” the 52-page book contains Jose’s insights and observations on a variety of subjects, including love, beauty, humor, friendship, children, and marriage. There is also a chapter of advice for young jewelry designers.
Interwoven with Jose’s thoughts are pictures of pieces he and Magdalena designed together.
“I am blessed to have had Jose as soulmate, creative partner, friend, husband, and the love of my life,” Magdalena said. “This book is for all family and friends in our lives.”
“The Beauty In All” is available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon (paperback only), and digitally via Rakuten Kobo.
