Reed Krakoff’s First Collection for John Hardy Is Here
It presents an iconic design in a fresh silhouette.
Out this week, the “Spear” collection is an evolution of the brand’s signature chain comprised of rows of interweaving links called the “Icon.”
In Spear, the Icon is adapted into a structured bypass silhouette. A hidden, internal titanium wire makes the style flexible and allows for an adjustable fit.
"With Spear, I challenged myself to preserve the foundation of the brand’s core designs so the brand evolves seamlessly," Krakoff told National Jeweler.
"Spear was designed to bridge tradition with an edgy and modern perspective. At John Hardy, there is an endless opportunity to interpret and innovate something that’s already so beautiful, which I find extremely inspiring and rewarding."
Launched as a choker and bangle, each iteration features a unique diamond-encrusted clasp with two circular openings to accommodate the chain. To close the necklace or bangle, one inserts the chain through one of the clasp openings and tightens or loosens accordingly for the right fit.
The wearable styles read unisex and are photographed on women and men accordingly on the John Hardy website.
The choker is available in sterling silver with a diamond pavé clasp and 14-karat gold with a diamond pavé clasp.
In addition to those options, the bracelet is available in a mixed metal version and in black rhodium-plated sterling silver.
Spear starts at $1,795 for a sterling silver cuff and tops off at $11,500 for a 14-karat gold choker.
It’s available now at John Hardy, Saks.com, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales.
This week, John Hardy announced the appointment of a new CEO, its second this year.
