NC Jeweler Shot, Kidnapped Following Robbery
The victim was taken to the hospital and the authorities are on the lookout for four suspects.
Officers were dispatched to the jeweler’s home at 8:21 p.m., according to a Facebook post by the Belmont Police Department, where the victim, who has not yet been identified, told officers on the scene that he had been robbed and shot by four men wearing ski masks at his jewelry store in nearby Gastonia.
He told police he was then kidnapped from his store, identified as TIF Designs by a local report, and driven to his home. The suspects left the scene.
The man was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center where he is being treated for a single gunshot wound to the back, said police.
The value of the goods stolen from the store was unclear.
