New York--The Jewelers Vigilance Committee has announced the schedule for its live webinars, which will start in May.
The webinars are designed to help members of the industry avoid legal risks and implement legally compliant business practices.

“Keeping Sexual Harassment Out of Your Business”
Presented by JVC’s senior counsel, Sara Yood
This will provide an overview of anti-discrimination and anti-harassment laws, discuss what constitutes sexual harassment, how to prevent claims of sexual harassment and how to handle employee complaints.

“Synthetics: Decoding Your Responsibilities”
Presented by JVC’s president and CEO, Tiffany Stevens
JVC will provide an overview of what jewelers need to understand about laboratory-grown diamonds, including responsibilities when it comes to advertising them, how to ensure suppliers are giving the proper disclosures, options around machine testing and how to talk to customers about these products.

The IRS is stepping up enforcement of the requirement that precious metals and gem dealers have active anti-money laundering programs in their business, the JVC said. This webinar will quickly cover the basic requirements and then talk about what’s happening nationally with enforcement.
