Antwerp--Following the relocation of De Beers’ sales operations to Gaborone, Botswana, Malca-Amit announced it is now offering jet shuttle service between Johannesburg and the Botswana capital.
A company that provides logistics, security and special operations for precious commodities, Malca-Amit started the “Gaborone Express” exclusively for representatives of companies exporting Diamond Trading Co. (De Beers) and Okavango shipments from Gaborone.
The Okavango Diamond Company is the rough diamond distribution company created in 2012 to market a portion of Debswana’s rough production and is wholly owned by the government of Botswana.
The company said the point of the service, which is provided by the Aviation Factory, a flight company based in Antwerp, is to cut down on long layover times between international flights coming into Johannesburg and going out to Gaborone.
A minivan picks up passengers in Johannesburg and transfers them to the jet, which then continues on to Gaborone. At the end of the day, the jet flies passengers back to Johannesburg, enabling them to catch evening flights back to Europe and India.
