Moscow--Russian diamond mining company Alrosa has reported the recovery of a 105.6-carat diamond from its Jubilee kimberlite pipe.
The company’s Aikhal Mining and Processing Division extracted the stone from processing plant No. 14.
Alrosa said that the diamond has an octahedral shape. It is transparent, with moderate yellowish hue, and there are small olivine, graphite and sulphide inclusions in the diamond.
The Jubilee pipe has yielded a number of diamonds weighing between 50 to 120 carats this year, including a 102.85-carat stone uncovered in October.
