The move follows a price-drop test run in Q4 and comes with the addition of a “quality assurance card” from GIA for some loose diamonds.
WJA Jewelry Night Out Events Happening Next Week
On Sept. 13, chapters nationwide will celebrate the annual event designed to drive membership and networking.
New York—Next week is a big one for the Women’s Jewelry Association.
On Thursday, Sept. 13, the organization’s chapters nationwide will hold their annual Jewelry Night Out (JNO) events.
Jewelry Night Out is the WJA’s annual membership drive that connects chapters, members and prospective members for a night of networking and celebrating.
This year, 24 local chapters are marking Jewelry Night Out.
WJA Boston, for example, will use its JNO to announce which designer/maker members will get to partner with fashion designers to show their collections on the runway at Boston Fashion Week in October.
WJA Seattle, meanwhile, is hosting “Jewelry Night Out – Gems of WJA,” inviting attendees to wear their favorite gem colors and, of course, gemstones to celebrate the night of networking, while WJA New York Metro will host a chat with Julie Zerbo, founder and editor-in-chief of The Fashion Law, one of the leading authoritative sources dedicated to the field of fashion law and the business of fashion.
Other events include the WJA Raleigh JNO, featuring a seminar on the identification of synthetic diamonds by Harold Dupuy, vice president of strategic analysis at Stuller; a keynote speech from industry veteran Andrea Hill at WJA Madison’s JNO; and free professional headshots at WJA Austin’s event.
WJA also is offering membership discounts at the events. New members save 25 percent on a $175 membership when they join and renewing members save 10 percent on the renewal fee of $150.
Those who join or renew their membership while registering will receive the WJA’s new membership pin designed by Diamondoodles.
To see the full lineup of chapter events for Jewelry Night Out, visit the calendar on the WJA website.
The discounts and Jewelry Night Out events align with a new member appreciation intiative, Membership Month. As part of that, the 35 Days of WJA social media campaign will feature special content and throwbacks in honor of the organization’s 35th year and highlights of how it has evolved.
