Neil Lane to give lecture at Chicago museum

Titled “From Brooklyn to Hollywood: A Journey in Jewels,” Lane’s 6 p.m. lecture on April 30 will be followed by a reception.
Tickets are $45 ($30 for museum members), and include admission to the museum, where select pieces from Lane’s period jewelry collection already are on display in the current exhibition, “Maker & Muse: Women and Twentieth Century Art Jewelry.”

Known as a “jeweler to the stars,” Lane has “become one of the most celebrated jewelry designers in the world,” the museum said.
“As a curious child growing up in Brooklyn, he had a keen interest in found objects, jewelry and art … (his) period jewelry collection continues to inspire his work today and his designs can be admired on virtually every red carpet and high-profile event in Hollywood.”
