After acquisition, JCK’s Bill Furman to join JIS team
Following the news that Reed Expositions is purchasing Jewelers International Showcase (JIS), JCK magazine and trade show veteran Bill Furman will join the JIS Miami trade show team.
Las Vegas--Following the news that Reed Expositions is purchasing Jewelers International Showcase (JIS), JCK magazine and trade show veteran Bill Furman will join the JIS Miami trade show team effective July 2.
The company said that Furman will continue to be a part of the extended JCK team, and will play an “emeritus” role for the magazine and website.
Furman has been with JCK magazine since 1971, and also was part of the team that launched the JCK Las Vegas show in 1992.
“This decision came out of a conversation between myself, JCK Publisher Mark Smelzer and Bill Furman about the total landscape of products we oversee, Bill's strong relationships in the industry, and the huge opportunity that JIS presents. We're thrilled that Bill Furman will be coming along on the new adventure at JIS," said Yancy Weinrich, senior vice president of JCK Events.
Weinrich will oversee the JIS shows in addition to the many JCK events.
The JIS Shows were recently purchased by Reed Exhibitions, the owner and operator of JCK Las Vegas, Luxury by JCK, JCK Tucson, and the Luxury Privé shows. Reed also announced that it would expand its 2015 offerings with the debut of a new Luxury Miami alongside JIS Miami.
