Piaget Names Chabi Nouri CEO
She succeeds Philippe Léopold-Metzger, who will retire at the end of March after 36 years at the Richemont Group.
Geneva, Switzerland--Piaget has promoted from within in choosing a new CEO.
She succeeds Philippe Léopold-Metzger, who will retire on March 31 and then become non-executive president of Piaget to help with the transition.
Léopold-Metzger was with the Richemont Group for 36 years. Under his leadership, Piaget developed a number of successful collections of watches and jewelry, built the retail network up to 100 stores worldwide and invested significantly in its fully integrated manufacturing process.
Nouri, meanwhile, joined Piaget in September 2014, first as global brand equity, marketing jewelry and communications director before being appointed international managing director of sales and marketing in September 2016.
The company said she already has had a strong impact on the brand’s business, in particular in redeveloping the jewelry business and repositioning the brand.
Prior to joining Piaget, Nouri spent six years at British American Tobacco as worldwide director for the cigarette brand Vogue where she developed a new communication platform and visual identity for the brand.
Before that, she spent most of her career at Cartier, which is also a Richemont-owned brand, where she started as product manager in 1998.
She subsequently joined Cartier International, initially as merchandising manager and then as international retail area manager, where she was responsible for developing the boutique network in the European, American and emerging markets.
Then as the jewelry group manager for Cartier International, she was responsible for the development of the global strategy for the brand’s high jewelry and iconic collections.
