Omega Unveils Olympic Watches
The Swatch Group-owned brand is the official timekeeper of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
New York—Omega is counting down the days until the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo with the release of two new watches.
Omega created the limited-edition timepieces to commemorate its role as official timekeeper of the games. Since 1932, Omega has acted as official timekeeper at the games 28 times.
The 41 mm Seamaster Aqua Terra Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition features the model’s first ceramic dial with blue finish and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem laser-engraved.
The sapphire-crystal caseback features the same emblem and is rendered in stainless steel. The strap is blue rubber, but an additional stainless steel bracelet comes with the timepiece, which is powered by an Omega Master Chronometer Calibre 8900.
The Seamaster Planet Ocean Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition, meanwhile, features a “Japanese touch,” according to Omega.
The 39.5 mm stainless steel case has a white ceramic bezel, with red ceramic marking the No. 20 on the bezel for the 2020 Games. The seconds hand has a varnished red dot representing the Japanese flag.
The watch comes on a white leather strap with additional stainless-steel bracelet included.
It features an Omega Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 and sapphire crystal caseback with the Tokyo Games emblem.
Each of the two new models are limited to 2,020 editions.
The Tokyo Olympic Games will kick off on July 24, 2020.
