Avengers-Inspired Jewelry Is a Thing Now
And a legitimate thing at that, with pieces paying tribute to the film created by none other than Irene Neuwirth.
If you’re not a fan of the ever more ubiquitous superhero film (guilty as charged), you might still be impressed with the latest blockbuster’s jewelry connection.
Not one, but two stars—Brie Larson and Scarlett Johansson—of the latest Avengers film, Avengers: Endgame, showed up to the premiere held earlier this week in Los Angeles sporting custom fine jewelry inspired by the film.
Apparently, and you’re clearly not consulting an expert, part of the film franchise’s storyline revolves around six stones called the “Infinity Gauntlet,” worn by villain Thanos.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Larson’s stylist Samantha McMillen thought that the ingénue should rock a real-life version at the world premiere, and commissioned none other than Irene Neuwirth to make it happen.
In her Instagram stories, Neuwirth revealed she received the request while on an African safari (because as we like to say at National Jeweler, jewelry never sleeps) but that didn’t stop her from immediately sketching out some designs.
The result was a very superhero-like cuff and five rings, worn one on each finger. Each yellow gold piece featured a juicy, colored gemstone.
And by some cosmic coincidence, Colin Jost, the Saturday Night Live actor and comedian who happens to be ScarJo’s boyfriend, also commissioned an Infinity Gaunlet-inspired set of jewelry for her, which she ended up wearing to the premiere.

Johansson’s designs, comprised of a hand chain connected to four rings, as well as a separate thumb ring, were by Sonia Boyajian, according to the designer’s Instagram.
So, who wore it better? And should the male actors’ stylists take note of this red carpet creativity at the next Marvel Cinematic Universe premiere (and next, and next)?
Let me know in the comments.
