New York--Sally Morrison, the Diamond Producers Association’s managing director of marketing, will leave the organization in May after seven months to “pursue another professional opportunity.”
Michael Pace, who spent 13 years in various marketing roles with the World Gold Council, will join the DPA at the end of the month as interim managing director of marketing and will remain on board until a permanent replacement for Morrison is found.
Pace will work alongside former WGC Managing Director David Lamb, who is providing strategic marketing support to the DPA.
Morrison, who has spent a total of 14 years in the jewelry industry marketing both diamonds (working on the De Beers account at JWT) and gold with the WGC, joined the DPA in October.
The DPA is the organization that was formed by the world’s biggest diamond miners last year to help stimulate demand for mined diamonds. The organization plans to update the trade on its marketing plans at the JCK Las Vegas show in late May/early June.
