Atlanta--The 24 Karat Club Southeastern United States added two members to its ranks at its annual banquet earlier this month.
Joining the club were Stark Harbour, owner of Southern Jewelry Insurance, and Michael Lebowitz, director of jewelry at White Pine Trading.
The two were inducted during the 42nd Annual Banquet at the Atlanta Country Club Aug. 6.
24 Karat Club SEUS members are considered and recognized because of their accomplishments in the industry, personal and civic contributions and commitment to betterment of the industry.
Harbour has been the owner of Southern Jewelry Insurance since 2008, covering Georgia, South Carolina and Florida, and represents Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co., Hanover Insurance, Lockton Companies LP and Chubb Unblocked.
With a passion for the security of jewelry professionals, he manages both the South Carolina and Georgia Security Alert networks. He also is a regular contributor to a number of regional and national crime networks.
Prior to Southern Jewelry Insurance, Harbour held positions at Grimes Insurance, Northside Insurance, Mass Mutual Insurance Company and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith LP.
His firm also is a member of the Georgia Jewelers Association, South Carolina Jewelers Association and the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association.
Lebowitz, meanwhile, has been with White Pine since 2013. He travels through the United States and Canada for the company, buying, appraising and implementing inventory augmentation and retail partnership programs.
He has more than 46 years of experience in the jewelry industry, having held roles at Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors, Royal Jewelers, Shreve, Crump & Low and Gordon Brothers Corp.
During the club’s annual banquet, it also presented the Jeweler of the Year Award to Mark and Rhonda Jacobson of Smyrna, Ga.-based Cumberland Diamond Exchange, chosen for their dedication to and love of the jewelry industry and their commitment to civic duties beyond their service as a retail store.
