Giving equal consideration to both aesthetics and historic inspiration, designer Vassiliki Theodorakidi-Mamona creates appealing and intriguing pieces of gold jewelry that she says are art.
Each collection consists of two component parts, the brand said--one that aims to satisfy the human aesthetic needs through her use of precious materials and excelling at craftsmanship, and the other appealing to the human spirit by drawing from messages and symbols in history or mythology.
Each piece not only has an artistic design but also tells a story, a feature that immediately is obvious based on the jewelry’s look.
With a presence in the U.S. market, Greece-based Theodorakidi-Mamona has won a number of JCK Jewelers’ Choice Awards for her work in recent years, and will have a presence at the upcoming show in Las Vegas next month.
In addition to showcasing at industry trade shows, the designer’s pieces also are often shown in exhibitions presented in ancient theaters, art houses and other appropriate spaces, as well as in her own gallery in Athens.
