Piece of the Week: Nana Fink’s Prasiolite Ring
The Swiss brand is inspired by ancient cultures.
Swiss designer Nana Fink is inspired by timeless, ancient design motifs, with the goal of updating them for the modern, cosmopolitan woman.
The eponymous brand succeeds with its series of “Sophistiquee” rings, in which carved, hard gemstones or metals are engraved for a bold, architectural effect. The styles look as if they might have adorned the fingers of a dignitary in Ancient Greece.
The classification of this Piece of the Week’s materials, however, is completely contemporary. The 18-karat rose gold ring features prasiolite, which cannot be called “green amethyst,” the FTC recently asserted in the updated Jewelry Guides.
