Tenn. Retailer Harold Markman Dies
Harold Markman, who founded Markman’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry in Knoxville with his wife Ida passed away Sunday. He was 89.
Knoxville, Tenn.--Longtime Tennessee jeweler Harold Markman died Sunday at the age of 89.
He also was a longtime member of Temple Beth El.
Markman was preceded in death by Ida, his wife of 61 years. He is survived by his son Stephen Markman and wife, Ellen; his son Stuart Markman and wife, Lori; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many more.
The funeral and burial for the Denver native were held Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made in Markman’s honor to to The Markman Education Fund, Sanford Eisenberg Knoxville Jewish Day School, 1529 Downtown West Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37919; the Interfaith Health Clinic, 315 Gill Ave., Knoxville, TN 37917; or another charity of choice.
