Below, our editors have selected five sessions that stood out in JCK’s full lineup of events.
1. “How to Omni-Channel”
Sunday, June 4
10-10:45 a.m., Tradewinds A/B (Tradewinds rooms are on the pool level of Mandalay Bay.)
Moderated by National Jeweler Associate Editor Ashley Davis, this panel will include Gabriel & Co. CEO Jack Gabriel, Michelle Adorjan Chila, the senior vice president of marketing at Tacori, author and marketer Deep Patel (“A Paperboy’s Fable: The 11 Principles of Success”), and Natasha Lazarov of ZFolio Gallery providing insights on how to approach omnichannel marketing and selling.
2. “Colored Gemstone Market Update”
Sunday, June 4
1-1:45 p.m., Tradewinds A/B
American Gem Trade Association CEO Doug Hucker and David Baker, the AGTA’s membership and education manager, will provide information on what’s going on in the world of colored gemstones, including the AGTA task force’s recent visit to Myanmar (Burma), new finds in the colored gemstone world and information about cultured pearls and fancy colored diamonds on the show floor at AGTA GemFair in Vegas.
3. “The Retail Revolution”
Sunday, June 4
2-2:45 p.m., Tradewinds C/D
The NPD Group’s Desiree Hanson and industry analyst Edahn Golan will present “The Retail Revolution: Understanding Shifts in the Luxury Market.” In their session, Hanson and Golan will give an overview of the external forces driving change in the luxury market as well as consumer buying trends in watches in jewelry, answering two important questions: What’s selling, and what’s not?
4. “How Diamonds Do Good”
Monday, June 5
2-2:45 p.m., Tradewinds C/D
The Diamond Empowerment Fund’s Nancy Orem Lyman and Dr. Benjamin Chavis will present “What Your Customers Want--and Need--To Know: How Diamonds Do Good.” The seminar will cover what DEF is doing to spread the message to millennials worldwide about the ways diamonds benefit the communities in which they are mined. It also will include tips on how to engage customers in store and online, and how individual retailers can get their stories uploaded to DEF’s website, DiamondsDoGood.com, where jewelers like Denver’s Hyde Park Jewelers are featured.
DEF also will be exhibiting at the show, Booth #L11, Bayside.
5. “Bridal Industry Trends”
Tuesday, June 6

Trumpower, the associate director of content and creative services at WeddingWire, will discuss what trends couples getting married today are embracing and what traditions they are leaving behind in “Bridal Industry Trends.” WeddingWire operates online marketplaces for wedding planning in 14 countries.
