Mahwah, N.J.--Seiko Corporation of America, a subsidiary of Seiko Watch Corp., has appointed Susumu Kawanishi as president and CEO.

He succeeds Yoshikatsu Kawada, who left Seiko Corp. of America at the end of 2015 and returned to Tokyo, where the company is headquartered.

In his new role, Kawanishi will continue to build all brands of Seiko Corp. of America--Seiko watches, Seiko clocks and Pulsar watches--in the United States.

He has more than three decades of experience, having managed European, Asian and Middle Eastern markets prior to this.

“I assume this role during an exciting time for the brand’s continued development in its premium collections and continued success in the core lines,” Kawanishi said. “We will continue to challenge our goal and implement successful strategies that will bring the company to the forefront of the timepiece industry.”
