AGA’s Next Career Forum Will Be About Gemology Publications
The March 22 panel will feature Brendan Laurs, Gary Roskin, and Robert Weldon.
San Diego—The Accredited Gemologists Association has opened registration for its next virtual career forum, which will be about gemological publications.
On Tuesday, March 22 at 8:30 a.m. PDT/11:30 a.m. EST, the organization will host a panel featuring industry leaders Robert Weldon, Gary Roskin, and Brendan Laurs.
Weldon is the director of the Richard T. Liddicoat Gemological Library at GIA and the recipient of the 2020 Antonio C. Bonanno Award for Excellence in Gemology.
He has written professionally for JCK Magazine and Professional Jeweler and has authored and co-authored many feature articles and books. His photographs also have appeared on numerous gemological publication covers and in articles and books worldwide.
Roskin is the CEO of the International Colored Gemstone Association and the recipient of the 2022 Antonio C. Bonanno Award for Excellence in Gemology.
He has covered the international colored stone market, and various gemological topics, for decades, earning numerous awards along the way. Roskin is the author of “Photo Masters for Diamond Grading,” former senior gemstone editor for JCK Magazine, and former gemstone editor for the Baselworld Daily News and the Roskin Gem News Report.
Laurs is the editor-in-chief of The Journal of Gemmology, published by the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
He also previously served as an editor of GIA’s Gems & Gemology in Carlsbad, California, and has visited numerous gem mining areas in Africa, Asia, Brazil, and the United States.
This is the third installment in AGA’s “What Can You Do with Your Gemology?” series, which is designed to showcase the various applications for gemological accreditation and its diverse career paths.
