Toronto—The Canadian Jewellers Association has appointed Marco Miserendino as the chairman of its board of directors for 2018-2019.
Miserendino is vice president, managing director and co-owner, along with his sister Paola Miserendino, of upscale Montreal jewelry store Bijouterie Italienne.
He recently became an American Gem Society CRJ titleholder and also is an Independent Jewelers Organization Master Jeweler.
Miserendino studied accounting and business management at the University of Quebec in Montreal.
He is joined on the board by past co-chairman Umesh Shah of RJB Diamonds and past co-chairman Stephen Cole of Spicer Cole Fine Jewellers.
He also is joined by first vice chairwoman Lena Nazzaro of Gucci Watch & Jewellery and second vice chairman Kevin Kaye of Citizen Watch Co. of Canada. The treasurer for the 2018-2019 year is Gail Golberg of Beverly Hills Jewellers Manufacturing Ltd.
Meanwhile, the directors of the board are Angela Betteridge of Angela Betteridge Jewellery Inc., Gino DeVuono of the DeVuono Group, Jeremy Epp of Independent Jewellers, Duncan Parker of Dupuis Fine Jewellery Auctioneers, Marco Pasteris of Birks Group, Richard Rooney of Bogart’s Jewellers, Beth Saunders of Canadian Jewellery Group and David Sexton of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group.
