Rare Rolex surprises at Antiquorum sale
A rare Rolex Ref. 6200 with an “Explorer” dial sold for $209,735, more than twice its pre-sale high estimate, at Antiquorum’s auction held Sunday in Geneva.
Made in 1954, the self-winding stainless steel Submariner features center seconds and is water resistant with a bi-directional revolving black bezel, winding crown and stainless steel Rolex Oyster riveted bracelet.

“As confirmed by (the) results, exceptional examples from Rolex continue to beat previous records and achieve extraordinary prices at auction,” he said.
Overall, Antiquorum’s auction of “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces” totaled about $3.9 million, with international participation from countries including China, Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, the United States and Switzerland.
