The move follows a price-drop test run in Q4 and comes with the addition of a “quality assurance card” from GIA for some loose diamonds.
Former Pulsar president Arthur Cohen dies
Arthur Cohen, the former president of watch brand Pulsar who began his career as a salesperson with Bulova, died last Wednesday. He was 90 years old.
Born in New York City, Cohen was raised in Vermont but returned to the metropolitan area when he was 16, attending high school at night so he could help support his family by working during the day. He served in the Signal Corps in World War II in North Africa and Italy, returning to the city to attend New York University on the G.I. Bill.
Cohen later became a salesman for Bulova and served in this role during the ‘60s, advancing to the position of regional sales manager (Memphis) and eventually national sales manager in the 1970s.
In 1978, Cohen became president of Pulsar, the same year Seiko Corp. acquired the brand. He held the position until 1986, when he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Douglas; daughter, Peggy Law; and granddaughter, Samantha Law.
