The Artists for Peace and Justice’s (APJ) New York City Holiday Gala raised more than $700,000 to create positive change for children in Haiti through education. There are only four days left until Dec. 25. For jewelers, that means that their busiest days are ahead of them: this weekend right up through Dec. 24, they hope, will bring a crush of customers into their stores.

The decorations have been up for a while, the marketing’s out there, the staff and customer holiday parties, for the most part, have been had. All that’s left now is to hope all the effort pays off, literally.

In this week’s slideshow, there are holiday shots from around the country, from one Texas retailer’s creative tree and another’s holiday party, plus a charity holiday fete in New York and a Jingle Ball in Los Angeles.

Retailer Susan Eisen, whose eponymous store is located in El Paso, Texas, bought these hand-crafted glass Christmas trees that blink at an art show. She could have sold them, but opted to hang onto the creations for decoration instead.

Michigan jeweler Randy Cole, owner of the Diamond Vault of Troy, held his store’s holiday party Dec. 5 and made Hasenfeld-Stein the event’s featured vendor. Cole said he does extremely well with the New York-based diamond company’s patented princess-cut diamond, the FireMark.
