Graziela Gems, Actress Nikki Reed Partner on Jewelry Line
Sixty percent of the retail purchase price of the 24-piece collection will be donated to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation.
Los Angeles--Graziela Gems’ designer Graziela Kaufman found a soul sister in actress Nikki Reed.
The two have partnered on a 24-piece collection, the proceeds of which will benefit the Ian Somerhalder Foundation.
“Working with Nikki was almost like looking at myself in the mirror and pouring my heart out into every sketch and every detail going into the pieces,” Kaufman. “Nikki and I have the same love, passion and compassion towards all living creatures. Our friendship and determination to make this world a better place drove the designs on this collection.”
Kaufman and Reed met when the designer’s publicist sent Reed a pair of earrings, which she highlighted in an Instagram post.
Then, after a fortuitous meeting between Kaufman and Reed’s stylist, Lindsey Dupuis Bledsoe, Kaufman and Reed were introduced and immediately hit it off over a shared love of animal and environment-related causes.
They decided to create a collection in which 60 percent of the retail purhcase price would be donated to the namesake foundation run by Reed’s husband, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation.
“This collection represents so much of the natural beauty seen in the earth and animals alike,” said Kaufman. “The [Ian Somerhalder Foundation] collection is organic, raw and real. Nikki shared her love of elephants and rhinos and also her and Ian's favorite gemstones, which are seen throughout the whole collection. Every piece has a story to tell, has heart, has soul and ultimately has hope.”
According to its website, the Foundation “aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures.”
The Graziela for ISF collection starts at $59 retail and is available online at GrazielaGems.com.
