It’s been an active week for industry events and shows, with the Jewelers International Showcase (JIS) show wrapping up in Miami and WatchTime magazine holding its luxury watch event in New York.

Meanwhile, retail stepped into the spotlight as National Jeweler released the results of its latest surveys (done in conjunction with Jewelers of America) about diamond fashion jewelry sales and ethical sourcing, a number of majors reported on their holiday hiring plans, and one retailer celebrating 40 years detailed how it is doing good for the community.
