The week began with American Gem Society and AGS Labs CEO Ruth Batson announcing that she’ll be retiring in summer 2017, marking the end of a nearly 25-year career with the organization.

Also, the gem shows wrapped up in Tucson, Lucara Diamond Corp. announced that it had chosen a name for the 1,111-carat diamond it discovered in November and Pantone named the 10 colors that it expects will be hot this fall.
