Vicenzaoro to Add a Vintage Watch and Jewelry Component
The Italian jewelry trade show will introduce the category at its January 2020 event.

Vicenza, Italy—Jewelry trade show Vicenzaoro is stepping up its offerings with a new section dedicated to vintage timepieces and jewelry.
Show organizer Italian Exhibition Group announced earlier this month the creation of “VO Vintage,” which will debut at the next show edition in January 2020.
VO Vintage will feature “extremely rare examples of watch and jewelry history” from more than 30 exhibitors, organizers said in a press release.
Master watchmakers from Verga Vintage will be on hand examining the vintage timepieces on display. IEG also teased appearances from “world’s greatest collector” Sandro Fratini, known for his 2,000-plus collection of watches valued at more than $1 billion.
IEG said several timepiece-related organizations will participate in the first edition of VO Vintage, including Assorologi, the Italian Association of Watch Producers and Distributors, notable for fighting against watch forgery; and AHCI, or the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants, a group of independent master watchmakers from all over the globe.
Both organizations will participate in special educational programming geared around the event.
IEG has partnered with Orologi & Passioni, which translates to Horology and Passion, an Italian forum for watch enthusiasts, in executing VO Vintage.
VO Vintage will take place on the first floor of the Vicenza Expo Centre in a special area to “ensure exhibitor and visitor privacy and security,” the trade show said, though certain collectors and watch enthusiasts not attending the trade show will be able to visit.
The next edition of Vicenzaoro will take place Jan. 17 to 22, 2020, with VO Vintage happening Jan. 18 to 20.
