Luxury Goods Veteran Olivier Stip Joins Chicago Jeweler CD Peacock

He will step into the retailer’s newly created role of chief development officer.

Chicago’s C.D. Peacock has hired Olivier Stip as its new chief development officer.
Chicago—Jeweler C.D. Peacock has appointed luxury goods veteran Olivier Stip to its newly created role of chief development officer. 
 
Working closely with Vice Chairman Steven Holtzman, Stip will lead the remodeling and expansion of the company’s stores in Chicago. 
 
He also will create a plan for network development and lead the brand’s transformation, the retailer said, helping it connect with a new generation of customers while also remaining true to its Chicago heritage. 
 
Stip’s career spans three decades. Previously, he worked as the general manager of watches and fine jewelry for the U.S. at Chanel. 
 
Prior to that, he was the senior vice president of marketing and communications for Cartier North America, contributing to the brand’s retail growth and leading the expansion of its “Love” and bridal jewelry lines. 
 
He also worked for Piaget International in Geneva, where he held the positions of vice president of retail and vice president of marketing.
 
“Olivier Stip’s tenure in the haute horlogerie and joaillerie sector will prove an invaluable asset to C.D. Peacock’s growth and development plans,” Holtzman said. “He fully understands the significance and relevance of enhancing the client’s journey within the luxury environment, which is essential for client acquisition and retention.” 
 
Stip said, “I am thrilled to move to Chicago and join the Holtzman family in their effort to reinforce the influence of C.D. Peacock as the crown jeweler in Chicago and a premier retailer in the country.”
 
C.D. Peacock announced plans earlier this year to build a new flagship store in the Oakbrook Center outdoor mall in Oak Brook, Illinois, which it is calling the Oakbrook Mansion. 
 
The two-story, 20,500-square-foot space will feature individual boutiques on the first floor and a “Peacock 1837” room on the second floor, including private branded spaces, a lounge, and a museum. 
 
Founded in 1837, C.D. Peacock currently has three boutiques in Chicago: Woodfield Mall, Old Orchard Mall, and Oakbrook Center.
