Reinhold Jewelers’ David Morrow, ‘King of Our Heart,’ Dies
The longtime businessman, known for his kindness and making family a priority, was 88 years old.
San Juan, Puerto Rico—David Morrow, longtime businessman and husband of Reinhold Jewelers owner Marie Helene Morrow, has died at the age of 88 after battling cancer.
A native of Idaho, David Morrow joined the Albertson’s supermarket chain at the age of 18, working his way up until he became president of the company.
After his retirement, he started working with his wife in Reinhold Jewelers—which has 13 stores throughout Puerto Rico—becoming a mainstay at jewelry trade shows and helping her grow the business.
“It is with great heartbreak that we say farewell to the king of our heart,” Marie Helene Morrow said in an email to National Jeweler. “One of David’s last words were that he would always be around to see us. Throughout this life, David supported and protected us. He continues to do be there for us through good times and bad.
“There will never be a husband, father, grandfather or great-grandfather as grand as he was. We will continue to cherish and remember him as we tell future generations of our family about him, so that his wisdom and love will continue to bless us for generations to come.”
Local Puerto Rican news site Magacín called him a “tireless worker, recognized for his calm spirit, chivalry and sympathy.”
Condolences and comments about his kindness flooded Reinhold Jewelers’ Facebook page when the retailer posted the news.
Morrow is survived by his wife; children Kelly Morrow, Kristi Morrow, Regan Reinhold, Robin O’Neill, Sara Francesca Fisher and Yael Reinhold-Lipnik; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
