DCA Members Vote ‘Yes’ on Agreement with JA
The Diamond Council of America’s members voted “overwhelmingly” in favor of the organization’s new affiliation agreement with Jewelers of America.

New York--Jewelers of America and the Diamond Council of America announced this week that DCA members have voted “overwhelmingly” in favor of the affiliation agreement that aligns the two organizations.
The boards of both JA and the DCA approved the affiliation agreement back in June at meetings held in the midst of the Las Vegas shows.
The agreement gives JA members greater access to--and big discounts on--continuing education courses on diamonds, gemstones and jewelry sales from the DCA.
JA will continue to offer its Professional Certification Programs in sales, management and bench, but will look at how the DCA education platform can help JA bring the sales and management programs online. (The bench certification program will remain as is.)
In addition, JA will replace its “Jewelry 101” course with the DCA’s “Beginning Jewelry Sales.”
More information about the courses the DCA offers is available on DiamondCouncil.org.
Terry Chandler remains CEO of the DCA but, as part of the agreement, the organization’s office has relocated from Nashville, Tennessee to JA headquarters at 120 Broadway in New York.
He will continue to report to the DCA board, which now includes JA President and CEO David J. Bonaparte.
The DCA remains an independent organization, though those with membership questions now will take those to the JA member services team: Member Services Manager Carey Miller, cmiller@jewelers.org, and Member Services Representative Dahlia Fyffe, dfyffe@jewelers.org.
