Flagship Saks Fifth Avenue Debuts Renovated Jewelry Floor
“Jewelry on 2” includes private viewing rooms, repair and cleaning services, and a team of style advisers for personalized attention.

New York--Saks Fifth Avenue debuted the renovated jewelry department in its flagship store in New York City on Tuesday.
The 7,000-square-feet “Jewelry on 2” aims to give customers the luxury jewelry experience, Saks said, including exclusive product and private jewelry viewing rooms as well as repair and cleaning services and personalized attention from a team of style advisers.
As the name suggests, it’s located on the store’s second floor, adjacent to “Beauty 2.0,” Saks’s experiential beauty department.
The retailer said its store design and planning team partnered with design firm Gensler to create a boutique aesthetic for the jewelry department.
The firm gave it modern finishes mixed with materials in neutral shades, like “richly textured agglomerate white stone flooring,” custom wallcovering handmade with beads and mica flakes and a suspended metal and ceramic wire art installation, dubbed “Bird & Pearl,” to add a “whimsical aura.”
The space’s jewelry lineup features a mix of established and emerging designers, including Amali, Anita Ko, Aurélie Bidermann, David Webb, David Yurman, Gurhan, ILA Jewelry, Ippolita, Jacquie Aiche, John Hardy, Marco Bicego, Mikimoto, Mizuki, Pomellato, Roberto Coin, Temple St. Clair and Zoë Chicco.
It also carries brands exclusive to the Saks New York location, such as Hueb, Etho Maria, Messika, Nina Gilin, Tomasz Donocik and more.
“Jewelry on 2 offers our clients an intimate, well-rounded shopping experience, one filled with unique services and offerings,” said Marta Nowakowski, vice president, divisional merchandise manager at Saks.
“Located on the second floor of our flagship, Jewelry on 2 has over 40 brands, expert Saks Style Advisors and two private viewing jewelry rooms, which can host designer public appearances, trunk shows, pop-ups, special events and private meet-and-greets with designers and creative directors--all set in an intimate, specialty boutique environment.”
The Fifth Avenue flagship is undergoing a multi-year renovation, and Jewelry on 2 is one of two phases relating to jewelry specifically, according to Nowakowski. The second phase will open a fine jewelry boutique on the lower level called “The Vault,” set to open next year.
The move reflects fine jewelry’s increasing importance for the retailer, which also led it to open the jewelry-dedicated Saks: The Vault in Greenwich, Connecticut, in May 2017.
