Alrosa Holding Rough Auction, Polished Tender
The Russian diamond miner is having an international auction of rough diamonds over 10 carats and a polished diamond tender for the first time in Vladivostok, Russia.
Moscow--Alrosa has announced that it is holding an international auction of rough diamonds over 10 carats and a polished diamond tender for the first time in Vladivostok, Russia.
Auction sales will be held leading up to the Second Eastern Economic Forum, and the diamonds will be displayed from Aug. 23 to Sept. 3 in the city.
There will be 19 rough diamonds with a total carat weight of 1,098 up for sale, the largest of which is 401.97 carats.
A polished diamond tender comprising 28 stones will be held at the same time. Five of these are over 5 carats; the largest round-cut diamond is 40.25 carats. Eighteen are fancy colored diamonds.
Thirty companies from Hong Kong, Israel, India, the United States, Belgium and Russia will participate in the viewing.
Rough diamond sales are being organized by the company’s United Selling Organization of Alrosa branch, which is charged with sorting, preliminary valuation, pre-sale preparation and sales for all of the company’s rough stones.
Meanwhile, polished diamond sales fall under the purview of Diamond Alrosa, which is the company’s own cutting and polishing division that sells round and fancy-cut diamonds both domestically and internationally, offering a full range of polished goods.
