GIA Has $2M in Scholarships Available for 2019
The application period is open through Sept. 30.
New York—The Gemological Institute of America has $2 million in scholarships to award for 2019, and the period to apply for them is open now.
Those interested in GIA gemology and jewelry manufacturing programs, distance education courses and lab classes can apply online at GIA.edu/Scholarships. Applications are due by Sept. 30.
Funded by private donors and the GIA Endowment Fund, the scholarships are available for distance education e-learning courses and lab classes, and for programs and classes at the institute’s schools in Bangkok; Carlsbad, California; Dubai; Hong Kong; London; Mumbai; New York; Surat; India; and Taiwan.
“With changing consumer trends and technological advancements in the industry, it is now more important than ever to have professional qualifications,” said Duncan Pay, GIA vice president and chief academic officer. “These scholarships help people follow their dreams and pursue their passion in gems and jewelry.”
