ASA Elects New International President

David Crick’s appointment marks the first time someone outside of the U.S. has held the American Society of Appraisers position.

David Crick, managing director of Australian aeronautical valuation company DavAir Group Inc., has been named ASA’s international president.
Reston, Va.—The American Society of Appraisers has named its first international president from outside of the United States. 
David Crick, managing director of Australian aeronautical valuation company DavAir Group Inc., began his one-year term this month.
"David's unique experience, leadership and perspective will be a valuable asset", said ASA CEO Johnnie White in a press release about the appointment.
Crick’s confirmation is a testament to ASA’s “continued commitment to an international footprint,” said White.
Over the past 15 months, ASA has set up a new governance model to promote strategic leadership, the company said.

It also has upgraded its technology infrastructure, including new association, learning and financial management systems to bolster efficiency and customer service.
ASA is also working on a modernized redesign of its website to improve the user experience.
“These initiatives and new governance model will provide the opportunity for ASA to expand into new areas of the profession and address global issues,” said ASA.
Crick said that he is “honored and excited to take on the role of international president and looking forward to supporting ASA's global outreach."
ASA is an international appraisal organization with experts in a variety of fields, including gems and jewelry, machinery, personal property and real property.
